Warm and Fuzzy Drive

Home / How you can help / Warm and Fuzzy Drive

We are preparing for our Annual Warm and Fuzzy Drive where we provide orphans & vulnerable children, youth, grandparents, our carers and patients in Khayelitsha with winter warmers consisting of winter essentials (hats, gloves, scarves, blankets), tin food and hungry tummy packs.

We are inviting individuals and corporates to become involved during Child Protection Month and/or Mandela Month. Both campaigns aim to provide winter essentials for our orphans & vulnerable children, patients, youth, carers and gogos.

A donations invoice can be provided by our Financial Manager, and you will receive an article 18A certificate for your contribution. Ikhaya le Themba places a huge emphasis on transparency and accountability, we can supply a breakdown of each campaign and what we require to make this drive a success.  There are many ways to become involved: financial contributions, sponsoring of winter warmer items; or assisting on the day!

Our Warm and Fuzzy Drive is going green this June in support of the national child protection campaign. Ikhaya le Themba’s heart is to keep children safe, raise awareness around child protection and place children first. From the 15 May - 10 June, IKLT will be collecting winter warmers, tin food and making hungry tummy packs for 500 children and youth. We will also be hosting a holiday club from 30 June - 2 July 2016.

In celebration of the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela, during the month of July we will be blessing the less fortunate. We strive to change the community one life at a time, and from the 12th June to the 10th July IKLT will be collecting winter warmers, tin food and making hungry tummy packs for 100 elderly members of IKLT. On the 16th July we will be hosting a Helping Hands day with a special time of encouragement for the elderly who are part of IKLT’s programs. Our biggest need is the sponsorship of the winter warmers, food items and the event, but there are many ways to become involved:  financial contributions, sponsoring of winter warmer items; or assisting on the day!

Should you wish to be involved, please contact Bobby Teichert via bobby@iklethemba.co.za or 071 280 0725.
